Classic Eyelash Extensions – Answering All Your Questions!

Eyelash extensions have become a trend within the Beauty Industry, and it all started with classic lash extensions. In the meantime, new styles have developed, however classic eyelashes are still the most popular style and in this blog post we will answer all your questions on Classic Eyelash Extensions!

What are Classic Lash Extensions?

Classic Lash Extensions are a type of eyelash extensions that are applied on a 1:1 ratio, this means one extension is attached to one natural lash (unlike strip or cluster lashes that are applied to the skin of the eyelid).

Classic Lash Extensions are the most traditional and popular style because the results look natural, and they are not heavy on the eye. If done properly they won’t damage your natural lashes. They come in different materials as well as length, thickness, and curl type.

How long does the application of Classic Lash Extensions take?

It generally takes 1.5 to 2 hours to apply Classic Lash Extensions. The lash technician will prepare your eyes for the treatment and then dip each of the classic eyelash extensions in the lash adhesive individually and apply it to your natural lashes.

How do I maintain my Classic Lash Extensions, and When is it time for a refill?

Generally, Classic Lash Extensions last between 3 to 4 weeks. This can vary from person to person as some people have a shorter lash growth cycle meaning the frequency of infills can depend on individual factors.

However, it is normal to book an infill every 3-4 weeks. Lash Technicians usually require you to have at least 40% of your lash extensions remaining to have an infill. Otherwise, this may be considered a full new set & application, and this would be reflected in the length of treatment & price.

In terms of maintaining your lashes and getting the most out of them, it is important to protect them when you shower. Also, it’s important to clean your classic lashes regularly, every day or every second day. Wash them gently with lash cleanser, then rinse with water. Don’t rub them and make sure to dry them afterwards. Try not to sleep on your stomach if you want perfect classic lashes for a longer period.

Can I Wear Mascara on Classic Lash Extensions?

Yes, you can, if you really want to. However, there are downsides to it.

Firstly, mascara will add extra weight to your classic lash extensions, and this affects the lash glue. Therefore, if you want to use mascara it is advised to start from the middle of the lashes. Be careful when applying and add no more than one coat.

If your set on using mascara, stray away from waterproof or oil-based mascara because it can affect the lash glue and break the bond.

Do Lash Extensions Ruin Your Natural Lashes?

If done properly and if you follow the aftercare and maintenance tips, classic eyelash extensions will not damage your natural lashes.

Classic eyelash extensions are a great way to add length to anyone’s natural lashes! They provide a low-maintenance method to improve your look and boost your self-esteem, waking up with full, dark lashes ready for the day ahead. This is one of the many reasons why they are so beloved.
